Villa Katica

The villa building is located in the famous Reformation-era part of Balatonfüred. It has been a listed building since 1989.

The listed building was built as a summer residence for Gyula Papolczy, a judge, between 1894 and 1897. In 1935, it was purchased by the Benedictine Order, who renovated and modernized it.

The house's beauty flaw is the terrace extension built around 1980. Although this addition allowed the building to have a terrace on every level facing the Balaton panorama, its appearance was out of style. Our task was to design the southern terrace in a fitting manner in addition to the complete interior and exterior renovation.

The building was restored, maintaining the terrace connection on all levels. The building will be renovated as a family holiday home in accordance with its original purpose, as a worthy member of the most patina-filled part of Balatonfüred.
