Dreher Palace

The Palace, located in the heart of Pest, in the 5th district of Budapest, overlooking the Károlyi Garden, was the winter residence of the Dreher family. Its current facade, designed by Alfréd Hajós, faces the Károlyi Garden, which is a protected asset and the main feature of the building. The investor's goal is to utilize the building as an office building, which is why the design program includes the reconstruction of the courtyard part of the building while maintaining the protected street section.
The coexistence of architectural historical eras can be traced here as well: the renovated classical wing of the building is complemented by the prefabricated structures of the courtyard tract - and the play of their duo embraces a rich inner garden, which is an extension of the Károlyi Garden towards the interior of the block.
