Father Jeromos Mihályi, pastor of the Catholic Church of the Virgin Mary in Balatonszőlős and also the abbot of the Benedictine Abbey of Tihany, entrusted us with the task of designing a community building for the small Balatonszőlős congregation, where churchgoers can gather for religious or other community programs. The location of the building is the churchyard, so programs connected to the masses can easily be carried out in the congregation house and the churchyard.

In addition to the communal space, the building will feature a sacristy with a bathroom and a shared toilet. The house is a clashing play of building masses, which with its broken-line mass marks the corner point of the site, respecting the churchyard as a superior function.
